CONSTRUCTION TRAINING UNIT

Upholding our core value of Developing Our People, Gamuda endeavours to help Gamudians excel both at work and also on a personal level. Furthermore, our involvement in the building of the KVMRT was not limited to just enhancing connectivity among Malaysians but gave rise to establishing training academies to upskill Malaysians.

GAMUDA PLANT OPERATOR SCHOOL (GPOS)

Established in 1997 as a non-profit training centre dedicated to upgrading competencies and skills in the construction industry, it remains as the only one-stop training centre for plant operators in Malaysia. GPOS has since provided plant operation competency training to approximately 40,000 trainees.

Construction Training Unit (CTU)

CTU provides young site supervisors and young engineers with development programs encompassing real site work exposure. The non-profit organization facilitates the training with internationally benchmarked construction skills adopted from the best practices in Australia, Europe and Singapore in order to springboard trainees’ careers in the dynamic construction industry.

Tunnelling Training Academy (TTA)

The key objective of TTA is to develop a sustainable pool of specialists, technicians and skilled labourers equipped with tunnelling skills to support the rollout of the KVMRT and other similar projects around the world. TTA was conceived by YAB Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad to improve the level of tunnelling skills during the construction of SMART Tunnel in 2003. Under a pact with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, TTA is offering internships to students from community colleges and the National Youth Skills Institute (IKBN).
